NOVEMBER SHOOT AVAILABILITY

We’ve been experiencing a little fall wave famine this past week, but fingers crossed we see the North Pacific start to come alive and swing some fun swells our way. The water has begun to cool a little and we’ve had plenty of small but fun days with Santa Ana winds making for great pictures

Now that the clocks have gone back those nice and early sessions are finally back on the cards – so you can now grab your favorite dawn patrol sessions before work once again! With sunsets a little earlier now and the sun down before most people have finished work I will have a limited availability for these sessions for the next couple months. I still have them available to book, but please DM me if you’d like a sunset session.

Wow, I can’t believe summer is coming to an end, the kids are back to school and our tourists are returning home. I’m pretty excited though as it’s my favorite time of year for swell, emptier lineups and the most amazing light to shoot your sessions! South Swell

It seems like we wait for an eternity for the summer south swells to reach our shores, bringing with them warmer waters and swell lines to the horizon. Over the past few weeks we’ve been sampling a taste of So Cal’s sweet summer offerings, with the first south swells of the season showing up full force. Under the May grey I’ve managed to sneak out and capture the moments of wave hungry surfers. Just last week I found myself heading North of San Diego running away from closeouts and in search of sneaky corners. I found some great waves with awesome friends ……. here’s a few shots from my swell chasing adventures below.

Small waves and rainy days…

There’s more rain in our forecast! I love the rain, especially since California is always in need of a good soaking. Rain in So Cal also has its downsides – crazy drivers, dirty pollutants and trash in the ocean and on the beaches and more potholes for me to navigate on my way to work (sigh)

There’s more rain in for forecast this week as we’re in another atmospheric river weather event right now. If you’ve not yet followed It’s been providing us with some drought relief and our mountains with stacks of snow over the past weeks and looks set to continue in the forecast for a little while longer. I really enjoy reading the report by Nathan Todd Cool over on the Swellwatch on Surfer – really interesting stuff. In anticipation of another solid few days of no surfing and no photos, I suited up and headed out for a morning session with some of my favorite girl crew. Some small waves at Grandview which were super fun. Condition stayed beautifully clean all morning and we were joined by a pod of playful dolphins.
